Possibly FOR SALE (NOV 2010) -
1950's Seagrave, former Westwood MA rig.
The motor is, indeed, complete. He had stored away the remaining components, as well as a several spare parts. With the exception of having to make some of your own gaskets, every mechanical part is there for re-assembly.
here's short list of what we've got:
-both heads, (bored and sleeved to run on unleaded gas)
-12 connecting rods and bearings
-12 NEW pistons and ring sets, fits the new sleeves.
-11 original pistons, plus spare rings (wont fit the sleeved motor, but may be good for trade, etc)
-both intake manifolds, plus 1 spare
-2 piece Valley cover with breather
-All of the valvetrain components (springs valves keepers etc.)
-Both carbs, plus a spare set, plus 2 rebuild kits (possibly the last 2 in the US)
-Water pump (gear driven on block) plus 1 or 2 spares.
-Rebuilt starter motor with solonoid.
-Air cleaner assembly
-Oil Filter assembly, plus spare filter.
-Oil Pan (need to make own gasket)
-Spark Plug harness with distributer caps
-Some spare spark plugs (standard size still available in stores)
-spare distributer, rotor, point sets
-Some new copper sandwich type gaskets for larger components
-Spare suction strainer
-original MA antique registration plates (green on white)
-Spare windshield wiper arm
-Spare exhaustY-Pipe
-2 Spare 6V electric fuel pumps

The Tires are brand new, probably good to go, doubtful if there are any flat spots.

The brakes are manually-adjusted, hydraulic (not air or vacuum)

The Batteries are 6 Volt, will need replacement, and are commercially available.

The fuel tank is intact, aprx 40 gallons, just needs draining and cleaning/sealing with an additive.

We do not have a seat, but can refer you to who does, you can make a pattern from it to make your own.

The pump is 750 GPM and was in top order, it pumped a ladder pipe and several handlines at a muster before the motor gave out.

Highway cruising speed with it's current gearing is about 50-55MPH

The mechanic estimates a GVW of 12-14,000 pounds.

According to the mechanic, there is no reason why, properly reassembled, the truck shouldnt run strong. FOR MORE INFORMATION, Please email  rc9460@msn.com
